““Prayer is
not asking. It is a longing of the soul. It is daily admission of one's
weakness. It is better in prayer to have a heart without words than words
without a heart.”
We have learned so much! We have
explored the features of a Mosque and can name some of these features.
The purpose DPS-JC and DPS Kids
is to create a happy and secure environment in this present multicultural and multilingualistic
world. We would like to have our DPS children to develop and flourish in
harmony with different religions. Our nursery is a child led setting; we
enhance the child's learning through play and the Early Years Foundation Stage
principles. We encourage children to have a choice, with activities matched to
their next steps of learning, using both outdoor and indoor opportunities.
DPS-JC Believes from the root that
every child deserves the best possible commencement in life to support and
fulfill their potential and excellence. We aim to provide a warm, loving and a
stimulating environment which promote all areas of your child's development. We
aim to provide a concrete foundation for all our children attending the Pre nursery
to class 1.
This term children have been
learning about Islam in religious education. Children of DPS-JC and DPS Kids
(Pre nursery to class 1) went to visit a local Mosque (Juma Masjid) at Sadar
Bazar Road Champa. Children took off their
shoes before entering the Mosque and sat on the carpet in the Prayer room. They heard about the five main parts of the
Muslim faith and learnt about festivals and celebrations. They listened to Imam read from the Qur'an
and had the chance to ask their own questions.
Children also came to know why
Muslims pray to Allah and how they prepare themselves for prayers. The children
had the opportunity to learn some more about Islam. They experienced the Imam
taking part in Wudu (washing hands and feet before prayer), calling Muslims to
prayer and they observed local people in the community praying. Children had a
brilliant time and were made all the better by travelling to the Mosque in their
school omnibus!
