Yoga is an valuable gift of India's ancient tradition. It
embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfillment;
harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well-being.
It is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with yourself,
the world and the nature. By changing our lifestyle and creating consciousness,
it can help in well being. Let us work towards adopting an International Yoga
Day.
Recognizing its universal appeal, on 11 December 2014, the
United Nations proclaimed 21 June as the International Day of Yoga.
Special Yoga practice was conducted in the school by
Mr.Rajendra Upadhay, the Yoga Master. Students and all teachers of DPS-JC were
given opportunities to practice Yoga on this special occasion. Mr. Piyush
Mishra and Ms. Geeta Yadav guided the Yoga for all participants of the day. Students
and teachers practiced 10 different asanas and 5 pranayams. It was an enriching
experience for students and as well as for all teachers to get to know more
about the importance of Yoga. Mr. George Joseph, the principal and Mrs.
Kalapana Singh, the Head Mistress took over all in charge of conducting and
making this day colourful.
