Time has changed considerably. Things that weren’t
even thought of a few years ago make headlines in the newspapers and become
breaking news on the televisions almost every alternate day.
Issues like Child labour, child abuse, sexual
harassment, corporal punishment, etc have become serious evils now. Especially,
school going children should be told and guided in these lines so that they
become aware and be sharper and smarter in handling such situations, if ever
confronted with.
In this regard, as per the direction of the Apex
Court, an Awarenes Programme on such social issues was organized at DPS-JC on 04.01.2017.
Children of classes 10 and 11 attended the programme. Mrs. Vibha Pandey, Legal
Secretary, High Court, Janjgir headed the programme. Madam Pandey impressed
upon the students the various delicate issues that the children need to be
careful about and the ways to deal with those. There were a few videos too
shown to the students about such alarming issues, and the immediate steps to be
taken.
Children need to be aware of such issues. They need
to be alive to such evils in the society and deal with them firmly, bravely and
smartly.
