Rangoli is a popular
folk art that has several religious connotations across the expanse of India. It
is believed that Rangoli designs started many centuries ago, and are used in
almost all kinds of religious occasions, festivals, weddings and so on. The
common belief is that it wards off evil spirits from homes.
DPS-JC in the schedule
of CCA activities, conducted 'Greetings Making Competition' for classes 2 and 3
on the theme 'Diwali', and 'Rangoli Making Competition' for classes 6 to 8 and
9 to 11.
While students of
classes 2 and 3 made beautiful Greetings Cards depicting the glitter of
festival of light, in Rangoli Making Competition for the Middle and Senior
groups, all the four houses were represented by enthusiastic and talented
children who displayed their artistic skills in varied colours. It was a treat
to the eyes - wonderful designs, mesmerising colour schemes and beautiful
thematic representation of artistic splendour !
