And Every Tomorrow a Vision of Hope.
Look well therefore to this Day !

A school commences the
scholastic year with pomp and aura of the Investiture Ceremony of the students’
council. A students’ council induction is a memorable day for all office
bearers, a proud moment to stand as leaders before their fellow mates. Such was
the Investiture Ceremony 2016-17 at DPS-JC. 28th July,2016 was
witness to a gala event which turned out to be a wonderful show of utter hard
work and perfect co-ordination.
The honourable
Superintendent of Police, Janjgir-Champa, Shri.Ajay Yadav, graced the occasion
as the Chief Guest. He was given a grand welcome and greeted with bouquet.
Thereafter, Shri.Raj Kishore Dewangan, President, School Managing Committee,
Shri.Purusottam Dewangan, Vice President, School Managing Committee, Associate
Vice President, School Managing Committee, Shri Kamal Kishore Dewangan, and
Shri.Mani Bhushan Choubey, Principal, DPS-JC graced the dais with their
presence.
The Chief Guest lit the
auspicious lamp that marked the beginning of the event.
The enchanting melody
of the welcome song and the rhythmic movements in the dance recital added charm to the morning saga.
In his formal welcome
address, Principal Sir accorded a warm welcome to all the eminent guests,
parents, students from other schools, colleagues and children. He also spoke on
the significance of Investiture Ceremony in schools and the vital role the
students’ council play.
Mrs.Kalpana Singh
presented a brief report on the progress of the school in the past five years and
the various activities conducted for the holistic development of the students.
She also mentioned about the achievements of the students in various fields.
Thereafter, the much
awaited event began. The members of the students’ council accompanied by their
respective House Mistress, lined up in
front of the dais. The Chief Guest honoured the members of the students’
council with badges and sash in sequence of their port-folio, starting with the
Head Boy and Head Girl, followed by the Sports Secretaries and the Cultural
Secretary. Thereafter, the House Prefects of all the four houses were honoured.
The Chief Guest was then requested to administer the oath which marked the
conclusion of the ceremony.
To continue with the
proceedings of the day, awards, certificates and prizes were given to the
winners of the GK and Drawing competition held under the aegis of RDMS. Certificates and medals were given
away to the rank holders of English Olympiad held by SOF. As an act of
nobility, books were given away to the children of schools in the peripheral
area who are imparted free education at DPS-JC with a purpose to provide them
with the basic education that they are deprived of.
President Sir, in his
speech, in his ever unique way drew the attention of one and all towards the
appreciable growth of the school and the students’performance, expressing his
huge expectations from the first batch of students of Class 12. He praised the
efforts of the students and teachers while putting on record his trust and
belief in ensuring that sky is the limit.
The Chief Guest then
released the half-yearly publication, News Letter, ‘RIPPLES’ and unveiled the
Annual School Magazine, ‘SPANDAN’ much to the utmost delight of all onlookers.
It was the most coveted
moment of the day when the Chief Guest rose to speak. It was a delight to hear
him speaking so beautifully. He too mentioned the significance of the ceremony
and the role of the students’ council. He was profuse in his praise for the
progress the school has made in such a short period of time. He appreciated the
efforts of the students and the teachers wishing them good luck. He was highly
vocal in his praise for the members of the Managing Committee too to have taken education to a different level.
The biggest delight was yet to come. The Chief Guest signed off quoting that he
had attended many such events, but the organization and the hospitality he
received at DPS-JC, was highly impressive and perhaps the best.
As a token of gratitude
and appreciation, the Chief Guest was presented a shawl and memento by our
President Sir, Vice-President Sir and Associate Vice-President Sir.
Mrs.Archana Dhodwar
proposed the vote-of-thanks in which she thanked the honourable Chief Guest for
sparing his valuable time and gracing the occasion. She thanked the members of
the Managing Committee for making their presence felt. She thanked one and all
for their untiring efforts to ensure successful conduct of the event.
Finally the ceremony
came to an end with the National Anthem sung with great zeal and fervour.
