LEGAL AWARENESS PROGRAMME



            

“Access to Justice for all” is the central theme around which the Legal Awareness Programme was organized at DPS-JC for the students of std. X and XI on Wed.,29-07-2015 in the School Multi Activity Hall. The guest speakers included the District Judge Mr. Ram Prasanna Sharma, the ADJ Mr. Suresh Kr. Soni and the Legal Secretary in DLSA Mrs. Bibha Pandey, all of whom elucidated in their own inimitable ways the nuances of the “Lanes of Law”.
CCA Chief Coordinator Mr. Pradip K.Banerjee, playing the role of moderator welcomed all the guests. The honourable Principal Mr. C.D.Pani and the PRO of the school Mr. Swarup Roy did the floral welcome by giving the bouquets to the distinguished guests.
Mrs. Bibha Pandey, Senior Civil Judge who is the Legal Secretary with the District Legal Service Authority set the motion of the discussion by initiating the tempo and momentum by asking the gathering of Learners, “What is Law?” And then describing the gamut of all facts what constitute law.
She also explained the difference between cognizable and non-cognizable offences. She told the inquisitive set of students about the CrPC and also the latest innovation known as “digital locker”. 

Then the ADJ Mr. Suresh Kr. Soni elaborated in great detail about the State and the Central Laws. He also explained the Fundamental Rights and Duties of the citizenry. ADJ Mr.Soni said that smooth functioning of life is next to impossible without the knowledge of and adherence to LAW.
The Chief Guest Honourable District Judge Mr. Ram Prasanna Sharma threw light on the rudimentaries of the rule of law in most aspects of Human Interaction.
He elaborately described the provisions of the MVI Act and the importance of DL, the eligibility criteria and the different provisions of the Consumer Act. “General awareness is the most important requirement to be with the LAW and act as per the provisions of LAW”, the honourable DJ opined.

The brainstorming and intellectually stimulating interaction came to a close in its own time with the vote of thanks by the CCA Chief Coordinator and giving away of “Shawl & Srifal” as the tokens of love and memory to the eminences by our Honourable Principal Mr. C.D.Pani.
As is usual The Guest Book was given to the Chief Guest Honourable DJ for inking his thoughts about the school and the programme and he so graciously poured his thought nuggets.
Penman concludes the blogging by saying, “Justice and jurisprudence both are of equal pre-eminence as long as human race has trace on the EARTH.”
