Teacher’s Day Celebration 2014

Our collective salutation to Dr. S. Radhakrishnan the 2ndPresident of India who was not only an educationist par excellence but also had immense love and respect for the profession and the professionals. He is the thinker who had urged upon the society at large to celebrate his birthday, 5th September as Teachers’ Day every year.
Like all previous years this year also DPS-JC collective celebrated the day with meaning and purpose.
First of all the Teachers conducted the Special Assembly for the students and then the school Students Council took over the mantle to showcase the multifarious talents of senior students (Std. 9 & 10) on stage. The chief guest was the President of the school. Our beloved V.P. and A.V.P. Sirs also graced the occasion to encourage the spirits of one and all.
First the lamp was lit by the president of DPS-JC and the portrait Dr. S. Radhakrishnan was garlanded by the Vice-President of DPS-JC, Associate Vice-President also accompanied them in paying respect to the divine soul in whose memory all learners all over the nation celebrate this auspicious day as Teachers’ Day.
Students presented some scintillating song and dance and also a fantastic skit in Hindi highlighting the importance of good education.
Then the senior students felicitated all teachers and non-teaching staff members by cutting a cake and giving rose and the school Management gave a token of their appreciation to all staff members. Our Honorable President sir presided over the function.
This year teacher’s day became differently important because our Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji addressed the school children live for the first time. All schools from all over the country were connected live with the PM. Here at DPS-JC we had arranged the live telecast / webcast of PM’s speech for all our students through the classroom Digi-Boards and TV set(s). All teachers and learners enjoyed the whole program till the culmination.
Over all the day (Friday) on the 5th of September was a very fruitful and enjoyable one.

Janmashtami Celebration 2014

Jai Radha Krishna! Jai Radha Krishna! Jai Radha Krishna!

It is a known fact that God lives in children as they are mostly pure at heart. They can be taught any sublime art. On the 19th of Aug 2014 the Tiny Tots of DPS-JC from Nursery to Std.1 classes took part in Janmashtami celebration in the school Activity Room. Little boys and girls had come decked-up as Krishna & Radha from their homes. Under the leadership of coordinator Ms. Purnima Yadav all teachers of the Nursery wing took part in making the entire deliberation a grand success. Puja was performed by Sri Chandrakant Dwivedi.

There was a very enchanting atmosphere amidst all fanfare and bonhomie in the Activity Room. All enjoyed the holy atmosphere very much. Children look forward to many such events always.

Inter House Debate Contest 2014-15 for Juniors (Std.4 to Std.6) & Seniors (Std.7 to Std.10)

68th Independence Day - 15th August-2014

From birth to death all human beings basically are mutually dependent for almost all their needs and requirements, wishes and desires culminations and nemesis, thirsts and fire. Despite being so dependent the innate craving for “independence” is perhaps the most inherent quality humans are known for. Freedom and slavery are two sides of how one understands the times between what can make your soul free and what can block your intellectual and spiritual progress.
Like every year this year also we have celebrated the Independence Day with great fanfare. Patron of DPS-JC Smt. Meena Devi Dewangan Ji kindly consented to be the Chief Guest. Along with her our respected President Mr. Rajkishore Dewangan & AVP Mr. Kamal Kishore Dewangan also accompanied her as Guest of Honour and Special Guest. Madam Patron hoisted the National Flag assisted by our President Sir. There was a colorful March Past after that with National zeal and enthusiasm. There were patriotic song and gala dance galore. Exciting speeches in English and Hindi were there by Vanshika Agrawal (6-B) & Mayank Pratap Singh (8-B). There was a good skit showing the patriotism Tipu Sultan. President of DPS-JC Mr. R.K. Dewangan addressed the teachers & students and reminded all about their duties. CCA Coordinator Mr. Pradip Kr. Banerjee very aptly anchored the entire show with assistance from Mrs. Yashodhara Dixit. In conclusion Mr. Banerjee raised the Vote of Thanks and then sweets were distributed amongst all staff and students.
