Our collective salutation to Dr. S. Radhakrishnan
the 2ndPresident of India who was not only an educationist par
excellence but also had immense love and respect for the profession and the
professionals. He is the thinker who had urged upon the society at large to
celebrate his birthday, 5th September as Teachers’ Day every year.
Like
all previous years this year also DPS-JC collective celebrated the day
with meaning and purpose.
First
of all the Teachers conducted the Special Assembly for the students and then
the school Students Council took over the mantle to showcase the multifarious
talents of senior students (Std. 9 & 10) on stage. The chief guest was the
President of the school. Our beloved V.P. and A.V.P. Sirs also graced the
occasion to encourage the spirits of one and all.
First
the lamp was lit by the president of DPS-JC and the portrait Dr. S. Radhakrishnan was garlanded by
the Vice-President of DPS-JC, Associate Vice-President also accompanied them in
paying respect to the divine soul in whose memory all learners all over the nation
celebrate this auspicious day as Teachers’ Day.
Students
presented some scintillating song and dance and also a fantastic skit in Hindi
highlighting the importance of good education.
Then
the senior students felicitated all teachers and non-teaching staff members by
cutting a cake and giving rose and the school Management gave a token of their
appreciation to all staff members. Our Honorable President sir presided over
the function.
This
year teacher’s day became differently important because our Prime Minister Narendra
Modi ji addressed the school children live for the first time. All schools
from all over the country were connected live with the PM. Here at DPS-JC we
had arranged the live telecast / webcast of PM’s speech for all our students
through the classroom Digi-Boards and TV set(s). All teachers and learners
enjoyed the whole program till the culmination.
Over
all the day (Friday) on the 5th of September was a very fruitful and
enjoyable one.
