CLUB ACTIVITES





The S.A II term which began on 1st October, has lots of exciting changes in store for the students, and promises to give new dimensions to the holistic development programme which is already an integral part of DPS JC.
In addition to the existing CCA schedule, students will also have club activities, where they will be able to give full expression to their unique talents and interests. There are 14 clubs in all, catering to every possible orientation and interest, from Yoga and Meditation to Cooking and Gardening.
On the first day of Club Activities, students were really excited about getting the chance to indulge in their favourite leisure time activities in school, and each one participated enthusiastically in whatever their club in charges had planned for the day.

Dussehra Celebration



Dussehra, which marks the victory of good over evil was celebrated with traditional zeal and zest at DPS-JC on Thursday, 10th October 2013. Starting with a vibrant tableau from the Ramayana in the morning assembly, the celebration reached its crescendo with the destruction of an image of Ravana, the personification of evil in the school grounds, in the presence of an animated crowd of students, who enjoyed every moment of the display.Shortly before this, a dance drama based on significant events from the Ramcharitmanas was presented by the tiny tots from pre-primary assisted by a few seniors from class 6 and 8. They brought to life scenes from Lord Ram’s childhood, his wedding (Sita Swayamwar), his years of exile, the abduction of Sita, and atlast the slaying of Ravan.
Senior students, meanwhile, presented a skit based on the incident of the golden deer from the Ramayana. The programme was presented to the accompaniment of verses from the Ramcharitmanas, adding a spiritually uplifting dimension to the entire spectacle. Shri Narayan Das Swamiji, blessed the occasion with his presence, along with institution’s President Mr. Raj Kishore Dewangan, Principal Mrs. Chetna Sharma and Headmaster Mr. R.K. Tripathi.

Tree Plantation (06-09-2013)



With the objective of making children more environmentally conscious, DPS Janjgir Champa organized a tree plantation programme outside the school building on Friday, 6th September. Sixty students from class IX participated in the programme, which was conducted under the guidance of Principal Mrs. Chetna Sharma, and the supervision of teachers Mrs. Grace Tirkey and Ms Rashmi Singh.

Teachers Day celebration at DPS Janjgir-Champa September 5, 2013


The Delhi Public School Janjgir-champa celebrated Teachers Day with great vigor and enthusiasm on Thursday. It was a day that saw teachers and students working together to create an atmosphere of warmth and togetherness, which is sometimes lost in the daily routine of academics and results. 

In the presence of special invitees Shree Narayan Das Swamiji Maharaj, the institution’s president Mr. Raj Kishore Dewangan, vice president Mr. Purushottam Dewangan, Director Mr. Sanjay Dewangan, and Principal Mrs. Chetna Sharma, the teachers took on the role of students for a while, and vice versa.

The teachers relived their student days, conducting the morning assembly, enacting a humorous skit on the importance of education, and finally enjoying a game of musical chairs. Students, meanwhile, got and experience of being in charge, minding their juniors, hosting the cultural program, and even taking on the parts of principal and head master for a while. Tokens of appreciation were handed over to all the teachers by the president to mark the occasion. 

Independence Day:



Independence Day was celebrated at DPS Janjgir-Champa with great zeal and patriotic fervor.
Note: Shree Narayan Das Swami ji was the chief guest, while the institutions Associate vice president Mr. Kamal Kishore Dewangan was guest of honor. 
    In his address to the students, Shree Narayan Das Swamiji who has spent the last 40 years at the Swami Narayan Temple in Baroda, cited illustrations from the scriptures as he exhorted students to be better human beings, and better Indians.
       Principal of Delhi Public School, Janjgir-Champa Mrs. Chetna Sharma advised young Indians to rise above empty observances and slogans and work towards making Indian independence a reality.
A charming array of cultural events based on patriotic themes also served to move and inspire the audience, bringing the programme to a successful culmination.
