Every year since 1947, we
celebrate Indian Independence Day with growing pride and grand gestures. India
has made gigantic strides in most fields since the time the British quit India
for good. Independence Day is an annual observance celebrated every year on
15th of August. India’s Independence Day is a day of great significance for the
people of India. On this day India got freedom from the British rule after long
years of slavery. This year in 2017, India celebrated its 71th
Independence Day to pay tribute and remember all the freedom fighters who had
contributed a lot and fought for the Independence of India.
We, the students and teachers of
DPS-JC and DPS-Kids celebrated our independence day with great vitality and
zeal. The whole atmosphere reverberated in the tunes of the patriotic songs
that raised goose pimples in each and every individual. The chief guest of the
our independence programme was Mr. Raj Kishore Devangan, the president of DPS-JC,
after being accorded a traditional and hearty welcome, unfurled the national
tricolor amidst the tunes of our National Anthem. Other dignitaries were Mrs.
Kalpana signh, the head mistress and Mr. Shirish Dodhwar, the administrator of
the school. The stunning moment of the celebration, flag hoisting was done by
our President Mr. Raj Kishore Devangan and he shared his patriotic thoughts with
students and teachers, and he stressed on the importance of being positive,
apart from all modern gadgets which would hindrance the growth of present day education.
Certificates of different competitions such as Science Olympiad and Co-curricular
activities were awarded on this special occasion. The day was celebrated with
varieties of enthralling programmes and it was a memorable day that ended extremely
well.
