Road Safety Week has been organized in Delhi Public
School Janjgir- Champa by DSP, Traffic Janjgir-Champa visited the School and
make the children aware about the Traffic Rules. Because in our Country Traffic
Deaths are increasing at tremendous rate and that is highest in the world. 16
People are dying every hour and that counts to more than one lakh and forty thousand
every year this is the reported data published by the NCRB, National Crime Record Bureau, higher than the people dead in
WORLD WARs, in our country just because of contravening traffic rules and the
most bizarre facts is that these all deaths are PREVENTABLE DEATHS.
Preventable Death means can be avoided by wearing good quality Helmets,
deployment of adequate nos of Traffic Police, Making highways with divider
because second reason for accidental deaths is the HEAD-On Collision of the Heavy
Vehicles, as well as heavy vehicle with Passenger Vehicles.
India's killer roads
claimed the lives of 75,000 people aged between 15 and 34 years last year. Over
82% of these victims were males, according to the Road Accident Report for 2014
prepared by the Road Transport and HighwaysMinistry.
"The detailed age profile of road accident victims for calendar year 2014 reveals that the age group of 15-34 years accounted for 53.8% of the total road accident fatalities, followed by the age group of 35-64 years accounting for a share of (35.7%)," the report says.

According to the report
prepared by the ministry's Transport
Research Wing (TRW), the total number of road crashes has increased
marginally from 4.86 lakh in 2013 to 4.89 lakh in 2014 and crossed the mark of
5 lakh in the year 2015. The number of fatalities has also gone up by about
1.5%. Thirteen states - Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Karnataka,
Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, West Bengal, Bihar,
Punjab and Haryana - account for about 83.2% of the deaths.

The programme concluded with a pledge by the students
to take utmost care while driving at the same time they will take care of their
elders as well as friends and neighbours whenever they will show callous
attitude while driving carelessly and negligently.
The Painting competition was also organized to make the
smaller children aware and the full knowledge of obtaining Driving License was
also intimated to the students.
