DPS-JC organized Effective Parenting Workshop

In keeping with its commitment to giving the community exposure to the best ideas and newest trends DPS JC organized effective parenting workshops in both Janjgir and Champa on January 22^rd and 23^th respectively.

The resource person, Mrs. Munira H. Dhamani is a well known Raipur based lecturer and motivational speaker with many internationally recognized certifications. In the course of several highly interactive sessions, she discussed with parents the importance of recognizing their child’s innate aptitude and orientation, as against trying to coercively mould the child’s personality according to societal expectations.

She stressed on the need for an empathetic connection between parents and children, which makes words unnecessary as the parents become attuned to children’s innermost thoughts.

DPS JC Principal, Dr Chetna Sharma, effectively connected with the parents, discussing DPS-JC’s child centric approach and the vision to focus on every area of the child’s growth, including skill development and personal development.  The school’s pledge to ensure that a child grows up to be a responsible, patriotic citizen with the right moral, ethical and social values , does not end with school based instruction, she said. It extends to the domestic sphere, with efforts like the effective parenting workshop which aim at enriching the child’s environment and contributing to building better communication among school, student and home.

Workshops on leadership and life skills were also held for students of classes VI to IX from January 22^nd to 25^th, in which the enthusiastic youngsters got the opportunity to enjoy every moment, even as they learnt essential life skills like anger management and assertiveness.
