Maths Jamboore




Maths is calculation. Calculation is jubilation and in continuation of that ceaseless jubilation like every year this year also on 19th July Maths Jamboore was organized for the students of Std. 4th to 6th. In the event of Mind over body young tutees of all the four houses participated with great enthusiasm and zeal. There were rounds galore like:Simple Questionnaire Round, Puzzle Round, Buzzer Round and Sudoku Puzzle.
As is usual MJ was organized by the Maths Deptt. and conducted by Ms. Neha Mandal and Mr. Neeraj Pathak, guided by Mr. GNS Ganesh.

Investiture Day Ceremony at Delhi Public School, Janjgir-Champa, 11.07.2014




Delhi Public School Janjgir-Champa has organized The Fourth Annual Investiture Day Ceremony for the Session 2014-15 on 11.07.2014 in the august presence of Mr. Prashant Agrawal (IPS) SP, District-Janjgir-Champa who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Mr. Rajkishore Dewangan, President and Associate Vice President Mr. Kamal Kishore Dewangan of Delhi Public School, Janjgir-Champa (DPS-JC) also were there to encourage one and all by their graceful presence.
For the all-round development of the students, DPS-JC had conducted a Comprehensive Written and Verbal Examination. Out of 60 students, 12 were selected for different Positions. As The School Captain – Miss Purva Gattani, Cultural Secretary - Priyanka Agrawal and Sports Secretary – Ujjwal Singh and Nisha Singh took oath for their Positions. Along with them House Prefects also were    sworn-in. For Akash House Avni Sadhwani and Bhautik Agrawal, for Agni House Palak Gattani and Himanshu Dutta, for Vayu House Puja Rani Baral and Deepak Sahu, & for Prithvi House Ankita Shukla and Bharti Soni were given the oath.
The guests were welcomed by the Welcome Song by the School Choir. The winners of The “Pratibha 2014-15” Competition organized by RDMS (Ramgopal Dewangan Memorial Society) were awarded the prizes and certificates by the esteemed Chief Guest. A cash Prize of Rs. 2500/- for the 1st Prize Winner, Rs. 1500/- for the second position holder and Rs. 1100/- for the third position were given away.
The occasion was also used to felicitate the students who brought laurels to the school by being adjudged winners in their respective categories in the top 25 State Level in various Olympiads. The students are: in NSO (National Science Olympiad) Priya Rathore-Class III, Kanha Agrawal- Class VIII, Yash Tahlani-Class VIII, in IEO (International English Olympiad) Priya Rathore-Class III & Aditya Agrawal-Class VIII.      
After the prize distribution Mr. Rajkishore Dewangan, President, DPS-JC encouraged the students to show their hidden talent by participating in all the different kinds of competitions. Mr. Rajkishore Dewangan also appealed to the parents to inspire their children to show their creativity and talent. Chief Guest Mr. Prashant Agrawal also inspired the children through his motivational thoughts in his speech. He told that the students are the founder pillars of a building. The strength of the foundation is of paramount importance for any building to be erected very high. He added that all students should come forward to show their inner qualities for their all round development. The programme was concluded by the presentation of a Memento to Mr. Prashant Agrawal (IPS) SP Janjgir-Champa by The President and Associate Vice President of DPS-JC in the memory of this auspicious day of the Investiture Day Ceremony.

CCE Training for teachers

Four days CCE training was conducted at DPS, Janjgir- Champa (DPS-JC) from 12th to 15th June 2014. The training was taken by Dr. Gurubax Singh Chabra (Technical Advisor of DPS trust). Teachers learned a lot in these four days training about the implementation of the CCE and how it will be helpful for teachers to get continuous feedback of the children and modify teaching learning process as per the needs of the learners.
All these four days were full of teaching learning activities. Mainly three topics were covered in these days which are CCE, life skill and health & wellness. On the 1st day of the training, Dr. Gurubax Singh Chabra was welcomed by the school administrator, by presenting him a bouquet. The training was very effective for teachers as it was designed in such a manner to understand various tools and techniques of F.A’S & S.A’S
On 12th & 13th June CCE and objectives of CCE, features of CCE, functions were discussed. The training was based on all about cognitive, psychomotor and effective skills and specially components of CCE. Teachers learned about the implement of scholastic as well as co- scholastic aspects of the pupil’s growth.
On 14th June of training Life Skills & life skill activities were conducted by teachers under the guidance of trainer, first five descriptors of the life skill were discussed to create awareness regarding the concept of it and implementation of it in classroom situation. The second half was full of debates group discussions and activities which were based on remaining 5 descriptors of life skills. 15th June was the last day of the training which was specifically designed to discuss the importance of “Health and Wellness”.
The training was practical with lectures, examples & exercises to provide skills encourage participation & exchange information. This training programme has provided the teachers an opportunity to get essential knowledge and to share experiences both on technical & regular issues.
On the last day of the training the President of DPS Janjgir- Champa, Mr. Raj Kishore Dewangan honoured Dr. Gurubax Singh Chabra by presenting him “Shawl & Shriphal”. At the last Mrs. Lata Pandey proposed the vote of thanks.
